To promote Gurian winemaking and produce high-quality wines, KTW Group built Château Askana in 2021. At Château Askana, wine is produced using the European method, while sparkling wine is made using the classic method and aged in oak barrels. The wines of Château Askana are crafted from exceptional grape varieties harvested both in Guria and other regions of Georgia: Guria - Sakmiela, Tsitska, and Chkhaveri; Imereti - Tsitska and Krakhuna; Racha-Lechkhumi - Tsitska; Adjara - Chkhaveri; It is noteworthy that the Chkhaveri grape variety is used to produce both white and rosé wines. At the château, sparkling wines are aged for a minimum of 1.5-2 years and up to 4-5 years, while still wines are produced over a period of 6-7 months. During the harvest season, Château Askana processes between 100 and 1,200 tons of grapes. Château Askana - the future of Gurian winemaking!
